SoCal Modern Builds started where most good crews start — on a jobsite, doing the work nobody else wanted to do right.
We grew up in commercial glazing. Storefronts, curtain walls, the kind of work that lives or dies on the install. Over time, the GCs we worked with kept asking if we could handle more — cladding, metal panels, then the full exterior package. So we built out the crews to do it. Today, SoCal Modern Builds is a sister operation to Potent Builders, our general contracting arm.
What hasn't changed is who we are: a family-run shop where the person who answers the phone knows the project, the foreman runs his own crew, and the work gets inspected before it gets called done.
Most of our work comes from GCs and CMs who used us once and called us back. That's the bar.
Four rules. No exceptions.
Show up.
If we said we'd be on site Monday at 7, we'll be on site Monday at 7. The whole industry runs on this and most of it fails.
Bid honest.
The bid is the price. We don't lowball to win and chase change orders. If the scope grows, we say so up front.
Communicate.
Daily updates, foreman accessible, problems flagged early. You should never wonder what's happening on your project.
Finish.
The last 5% is where projects get abandoned. We don't move to the next job until the current one is closed out.
